Great Columbia CrossingTake advantage of the rare opportunity to run or walk across the longest continuous truss bridge in North America, and revel in the view of the majestic Columbia River and surrounding Astoria Warrenton landscape. The Great Columbia Crossing is an official USA Track and Field Certified 10K, and is a scenic adventure suitable for all ages. The race takes place on a moderately flat route with one steep incline to the peak of the bridge – well worth the view!
The Great Columbia Crossing takes place annually in October. Spots for the race are likely to sell out and advance registration is required, which can be done here. And don’t forget to book your stay in Astoria or Warrenton early!

2017 Great Columbia Crossing Information
When: Sunday, October 15, 2017; first wave of runners begins at 8:45 a.m., shuttle bus departures begin at 6:30 a.m.
Where: Race begins at Dismal Nitch Rest Area in Washington. Shuttle buses to the starting area depart from Port of Astoria and Port of Chinook. Find full schedule and directions here.
You’ll surely work up an appetite during the race, and luckily there is no shortage of drool-worthy dining options or places to kick back with a cold craft beer, not far from the finish line.
If you can’t make it out the weekend of the Great Columbia Crossing, the only thing you’ll miss out on is being able to cross the Columbia on foot. Astoria and Warrenton will be waiting with other fun things to see and do all year-round!
