From Sea to Shining Sea

 The North Coast Symphonic Band concludes its 42nd season with a concert titled “From Sea to Shining Sea” at 7 PM on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the Liberty Theater in Astoria. Brett Paschal of Portland, Oregon will be our guest conductor.

The concert features an exciting mix of American favorites, including several Marches, a Broadway medley, American Riversongs, Bugler's Holiday (A trumpet feature), and more. The traditional Armed Forces medley, will also be performed, and a rousing rendition of Stars and Stripes Forever. The MC for the afternoon will be Brian Bergman.

Brett Paschal is our conductor for this concert. Brett is the director of bands at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where he is also the percussion instructor. He is the drummer for the popular group, “Three Leg Torso”. 

This concert will be free to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted. The Liberty is located on the corner of 12th and Commercial Street in Astoria. The doors will open at 6 PM for concessions. The prelude at 6:30 PM is recorded music from past NCSB concerts. Please check the Liberty website for current COVID requirements.

The North Coast Symphonic Band offers local musicians of all ages the chance to network, learn from each other, and maintain their skill level in a positive and supportive environment. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 PM at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts (PAC) in Astoria. Potential new members should read music, own their own instruments, and have advanced high school level performance skills or higher. 

The band’s 43rd season begins this fall, led by the new NCSB director, Terry Dahlgren. The concert dates are November 20th, 2022, February 12th, 2023, April 23rd, 2023, and July 3, 2023.
