The 37th Anniversary of The Goonies is June 7. It’s an official holiday here in Astoria and there are always tons of Goonies things to do. The Oregon Film Museum is open daily from 10 – 5. Filming sites around Clatsop County are always available for driving by or respectfully walking by.

Other Special Activities to help Celebrate include:
Starting on Friday, June 3 you can stop by the Oregon Film Museum or the Astoria-Warrenton Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center to get the 37th Anniversary “Become an OreGOONIan” booklet with 37 fun things to do. Complete 15 of the items and return to get a commemorative 37th button. Booklets will be available while supplies last or until June 8.

Stop by the Oregon Film Museum and leave a birthday greeting for Jeff Cohen (Chunk). We will mail him all of the birthday notes in time for his birthday on June 25.

Friday, June 3 – Liberty Theater – 7:00 – Costume Contest & Screening of The Goonies. Doors open at 6:00. The movie is free. There is a $10 entry fee to be a contestant in the costume contest. Contestants can be individuals or groups. 1st Place winner gets $100, 2nd place winner gets $50, 3rd place gets a Baby Ruth Candy Bar.

Friday, June 3 – Astoria Arts & Movement Center – 80s Dance Party – 9:00 – 12:00. $10 cover, all ages welcome, cash bar with id. Rachel from 94.9 The Bridge will be the special DJ!

Saturday, June 4 – Flavel House Pond – One-Eyed Willy’s Never Say Dive Boat Race – 10:00. Winner gets a “Fifty Dollar Bill”

Saturday, June 4 – Liberty Theater – Heart by Heart concert – presented by Ohana Media – 7:00

Sunday, June 5 – Oregon Film Museum – Photo ops in the “Goonies Jeep” – 11 – 2
