WATER MUSIC FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 40^TH ANNIVERSARY

The iconic Water Music Festival, bringing the best in classical, jazz and other beloved genres of music to the Long Beach Peninsula since 1985, celebrates 40 years on October 18, 2025. 

The “Broadway Lights” Ensemble will entertain concertgoers with the best loved music from a variety of Broadway shows, including Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Sound of Music, and much more.   Soprano Kari Burgess, tenor David Gustafson, pianist John Jantzi, and additional instrumentalists will delight concertgoers with their Broadway arrangements, complete with some appropriate staging and dress. 

Tasty appetizers will be served during the social hour.  Coffee, tea and water will be offered, along with a no-host wine bar to include a special anniversary beverage.   A lovely anniversary cake will be served for dessert during the intermission.   Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to win special prizes.  Sweatshirts, with a new, artistically crafted design to celebrate 40 years, will be available to purchase.  

The festivities will be held at the Chinook Event Center in Chinook.  Social hour commences at 2 p.m., concert at 3 p.m.  During the social hour and at the intermission, attendees will delight to the fabulous artistry of the Ilwaco High School jazz band and two incredibly talented high school vocalists, all of whom will perform Broadway classics in keeping with the concert theme.  

It’s an afternoon of music not to be missed!  Come celebrate 40 years of success with the Water Music Society, while supporting one of the Society’s main missions -  MUSIC EDUCATION IN THE LOCAL SCHOOLS!

It’s time for tricks with a side of a treat or two with Smashing Pumpkinheads on Saturday, October 25th from 6-9pm in the parking pit of Dead Man’s Isle. Halloween hooligans of all ages step up to smash pumpkins to bits! Free to attend, $10 to smash a pumpkin ($5 if you bring your own pumpkin). Pumpkin painting station, spooky photo ops, and delicious elixirs from Dead Man’s Isle.

Join us at the coast for a spooky, beachy Halloween dance party. Grab a themed cocktail and do the Monster Mash all night long to tunes spun by the mix master general: DJ Gregarious! Costumes are encouraged and don't be afraid to go all out. We'll be handing out random prizes to those in costume.
