Judith Fredrickson has a keen eye for capturing beach life and surrounding natural beauty. Jo Pomeroy is known for her dramatic colors and patterns, adding a vivid element to this exciting show. Phyllis Taylor excels at capturing the light and color of our surroundings in her inspiring work.

Event Details

Boston-based guitarist and composer Aaron Larget-Caplan returns to Astoria for a celebratory concert of his twelfth album ‘Guitar America 250 – Revolutionaries and Rockstars’. Featuring music from pre-Civil War through the World Wars, classical composers Irving Berlin and Leonard Bernstein, and cultural icons Paul Simon and Eddie Van Halen, as well as spoken word performed by local Astorians from Astoria High School, reciting poetry by Walt Whitman and Frances Harper. The 1-hour concert takes place at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts, 588 16th Street in Astoria. Doors open at 3:30pm. CDs, sheet music, and stickers will be available.

Celebrate Washington’s birthday while learning about the state marine mammal, the Orca! Build your own orca paper bag puppet and get some killer fun facts. During Sensory Sunday, audio in the exhibits are lowered or turned completely off and the Ford Room is turned into a self-regulation station with soft seating, dimmed lights, fidgets and activities. Sensory Sunday runs the first Sunday of the month except January, July, and December.

The Astoria Sunday Market, at the heart of Astoria’s Downtown, combines local arts & crafts, fresh produce & protein, unique prepared foods, music and more in a lively downtown street market atmosphere.

The market features up to 150 vendors offering locally-made products that have been grown, gathered, created, or hand-crafted by the farmers, ranchers, producers, craftspeople and artists featured each week. With a bustling food court and a rotation of fun regional music, the Astoria Sunday Market is where locals and visitors alike gather each Sunday to shop, eat, connect, and celebrate community.

Step into the layered story of Astoria, where river, sea, and hillside converge, on a guided walking tour through the Downtown Astoria Historic District. Offered weekly by the Lower Columbia Preservation Society, these tours explore the architectural heritage, working waterfront history, and civic ambitions that shaped Oregon’s oldest American settlement.

Tours are point-to-point, beginning at the Astoria Nordic Heritage Park and concluding at the Flavel House Museum, traversing approximately ten blocks over the course of 90 minutes. Along the way, participants encounter landmark commercial buildings, vernacular streetscapes, and stories of industry, immigration, and resilience that continue to define Astoria’s character.

Walking tours are offered Sundays, from Mother’s Day through mid-October, and are led by knowledgeable LCPS volunteer guides with deep ties to local history and preservation advocacy. Each tour emphasizes both architectural observation and the broader cultural context of the place inviting participants to see familiar streets with fresh eyes. The tour will finish with enough time to enjoy lunch at the Sunday Market in downtown Astoria, or you'll be in time to join the Liberty Theater tour starting at noon.

World Cup of Food is a FUNdraiser for Clatsop County food banks and pantries. The 3v3 soccer tournament will have divisions for grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, ages 19-30 and 31 and above. Divisions will be for males and females with a coed option for ages 19 and above if enough teams register. THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 15. MusicOregon is conducting a statewide listening tour across seven Oregon communities from May 16 through May 23, 2026. Each stop is a free, two-hour public gathering open to musicians, venue operators, music educators, producers, managers, and anyone who works in or alongside the local music scene. The gatherings are conversation-first: no formal presentations, no agenda beyond listening. Participants will help define MusicOregon's statewide programming, partnerships, and advocacy priorities for the next two years. The tour is funded in part by the Oregon Community Foundation through its Arts Rebuilding Grant program, and reflects MusicOregon's expansion beyond its Portland origins into all of Oregon's major music regions: the North Coast, the Willamette Valley, Southern Oregon, Central Oregon, and Northeastern Oregon. A statewide needs assessment survey is also open now at musicoregon.org/survey. Responses are anonymous. MusicOregon will share the results with the music community and the public. The Semi-Quincentennial marks the beginning of our nation. Our crew is looking at the mouth of the Columbia’s own beginnings by highlighting several significant vessels and how they have change over time. Celebrate National Maritime Day on a guided tour through the exhibits with a focus on the historic vessels on display. Pre-register for tours online or see if there is space upon arrival. Join the Uniontown Association on Memorial Day, May 25th at 3:00 pm at the Maritime Memorial Park as the names on the memorial walls are read and remembered by our community. Since the 1990’s this tradition has been a important part of the remembrance of those no longer with us who were involved in maritime activities. Bring flowers to place in the river as names are read of those you wish to remember and celebrate. Extra flowers are appreciated. Coffee and cookies provided.

Step into the layered story of Astoria, where river, sea, and hillside converge, on a guided walking tour through the Downtown Astoria Historic District. Offered weekly by the Lower Columbia Preservation Society, these tours explore the architectural heritage, working waterfront history, and civic ambitions that shaped Oregon’s oldest American settlement.

Tours are point-to-point, beginning at the Astoria Nordic Heritage Park and concluding at the Flavel House Museum, traversing approximately ten blocks over the course of 90 minutes. Along the way, participants encounter landmark commercial buildings, vernacular streetscapes, and stories of industry, immigration, and resilience that continue to define Astoria’s character.

Walking tours are offered Sundays, from Mother’s Day through mid-October, and are led by knowledgeable LCPS volunteer guides with deep ties to local history and preservation advocacy. Each tour emphasizes both architectural observation and the broader cultural context of the place inviting participants to see familiar streets with fresh eyes. The tour will finish with enough time to enjoy lunch at the Sunday Market in downtown Astoria, or you'll be in time to join the Liberty Theater tour starting at noon.

-15 people max per tour 
-Limited bathroom availability- the tour guide will inform you where the bathrooms are
-Terrain can be uneven and the tour will be walking uphill for about two blocks. Wheelchair accessibility is limited. 
-During the sunny weather a hat and water is suggested. 
-All tour guides are volunteers, feel free to tip them directly!
